Big blow for Mumbai – Malinga returns home
Recurring back pain has forced Mumbai Indians’ strike bowler Lasith Malinga to return back home to Sri Lanka for treatment. The pace bowler is rumoured to be out of action for at least a couple weeks which could dent Mumbai’s chances in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
Malinga, known for his lethal yorkers, last played for Mumbai against Rajasthan on April 11th. Thereafter he missed out on his side’s match against the Delhi Dardevils on April 16th.
Nishantha Ranatunga, secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket spoke to the media and confirmed that the bowler had indeed returned home.
Injuries have plagued Malinga in recent years. A knee injury he picked up during Sri Lanka's 2007 tour of Australia threatened to cut short his career. In April 2011, he retired from Tests and decided to focus on the limited overs formats in order to spare his knee further damage.
Malinga has been the best bowler for MI even this season, claiming nine wickets in 15.5 overs at an economy rate of 4.54. Mumbai’s next game will be against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday at the Wankhede. The Mumbai Indians management has not confirmed the nature of Malinga’s injury and have thus far claimed he was merely troubled by a back strain and would be available for the next match.
Mumbai have made a patchy start to the fifth edition of the IPL and are currently in sixth place on the points table, having won three of their five game
Six-legged baby successfully operated
Doctors in a Karachi hospital have successfully removed the extra limbs of a baby boy who was born with six legs. The operation lasted for about two hours, and the baby is now in stable condition, doctors at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in Karachi said on Thursday.Birth defects like the Mermaid syndrome, a deformity where the legs are fused together, Craniopagus, a phenomenon where twins are joined at the head, and Dicephalic parapagus, a condition of having two heads, occur rarely but prove challenging to the medical world. Here are some instances of successful treatment of congenital diseases..

Agni-V, India's first ICBM test-fired successfully
NEW DELHI: India on Thursday test-fired for the first time its most-ambitious strategic missile, the over 5,000-km range Agni-V, in a bid to join the super exclusive ICBM(intercontinental ballistic missile) club that counts just US, Russia,China, France and UK as its members.
The solid-fuelled Agni-V, which will bring the whole of China as well as other regions under its strike envelope, was tested from Wheeler Island off the Odisha coast at 8.07 am.
''We have met all our mission objectives,'' said a jubilant DRD0 chief controller of missiles, Avinash Chander.
DRD0 chief V K Saraswat, in turn, said India had emerged as a major missile power with Thursday's test.
The nuclear-capable, three-stage Agni-V, about 50-tonne in weight and 17.5-metre tall, will become fully operational by 2014-2015 after "four to five repeatable tests" and user trials.
India could have gone for a higher strike range but believes the solid-fuelled Agni-V is "more than adequate'' to meet current threat perceptions and security concerns. The missile can, after all, even hit the northernmost parts of China.
India, of course, cannot match China in terms of its vast nuclear and missile arsenals. But missiles like Agni-V and the 3,500-km Agni-IV, tested last November, will certainly add teeth to its credible minimum nuclear deterrence posture.
With a canister-launch system to impart higher road mobility, the missile will give the armed forces much greater operational flexibility than the earlier-generation of Agni missiles.
"The accuracy levels of Agni-V and Agni-IV, with their better guidance and navigation systems, are far higher than Agni-I (700-km), Agni-II (2,000-km) and Agni-III (3,000-km),'' said the source.
The Agni missiles will get deadlier once MIRV (multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles) payloads for them are developed. An MIRV payload on a missile carries several nuclear warheads, which can be programmed to hit different targets. A flurry of such missiles can hence completely overwhelm BMD (ballistic missile defence) systems.

How To Remove Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications In Windows 7 & Windows Vista
It works with all editions of Windows 7 & Windows Vista. Just run the tool and follow the instructions on screen. Once done, reboot and see… no one is asking you to get genuine!!!
If you still want to fix this issue manually, you can try following method.
To fix this problem we have the following solution. Follow each step carefully to resolve the problem.
1. Search for the term “slui” in the Windows 7 search box or navigate to the following location and search for slui:
C:\Windows\System32
2. You’ll get the following files in the search results, when searched in System32 folder.
C:\Windows\System32\slui.exeC:\Windows\System32\slwga.dllC:\Windows\System32\slui.exe.mui
3. If you don’t find them in search results then locate them manually. Since these files are the cause for generation of WGA notifications, we should try to delete them. But deletion of this files is not a simple task. Hence we’ll use cmd to delete them.
4. Open the command prompt on Windows with administrative rights. If it requires password, just enter it. And delete the search resulted files one by one using del property. For example--enter del slui.exe to delete C:\Windows\System32\slui.exe.
Note : Type the exact location of file to delete, otherwise chances of deletion of other files are there, which can affect your system adversely.
5. Now reboot the machine, hence all WGA notifications should be disappeared. To confirm, check System Properties via Computer. That’s it. Please drop your valuable comments if something doesn’t works

There will be no separate waiting list of candidates.
Tie-break
The tie-break criterion, in the various rank lists, adopted for awarding ranks to the candidates who have scored the same aggregate marks is as follows:
Subject-wise average marks will be calculated for each rank list. Among the candidates having the same aggregate marks, a candidate will be ranked higher, if he/she has scored higher marks in the subject with the lowest average marks calculated as above. If there is a tie after this procedure, then the marks obtained by the tied candidates in the subject with the second-lowest average marks will be considered, and the above procedure will be repeated. Candidates tied even after this procedure will be given the same rank...

5 lakh aspirants to sit for IIT-JEE in 2012
A SpeciaL Day iN the life of a Non Med Student--The IIT-JEE exam Day...
This tym the estimated Number is 5.06..Overall, candidate numbers are up from last year's 4.86 lakh and the IITs have increased the exam centres to 1,067 this year. But this exam will also probably be the last of the JEEs as we know it. There are close to 9,590 seats spread across 15 IITs and competition will be stiff with 53 candidates battling it out for one seat.
GB Reddy, JEE chairman, said, "Students are supposed to use a black ball point pen this year and not a pencil. The minimum score that a candidate must get to secure a rank has also been declared."
This year, the IITs have mandated that general category students must get a minimum aggregate score of 35% and at least 10% in each of the individual sections for being on the rank list. Similarly, OBC students must get at least 9% in individual sections and 31.5% in the overall score; for SC/ST, the minimum to be bagged in each section is 5% and 17.5% must be the minimum aggregate to be on the rank-list..

Mac OS X Report: Virus Infects 600,000 Computers
More than 600,000 Apple computers worldwide have been infected with the Flashback Trojan, leaving their systems’ security vulnerable to criminal hackers, the Russian anti-virus firm Dr. Web reported.
Over half of the infected computers are in the United States, and nearly 20 percent are in Canada.
“This once again refutes claims by some experts that there are no cyber-threats to Mac OS X,” the report said.
The trojan began quietly circulating in September under the guise of an Adobe Flash Update. Once installed, the virus disables some security features, allowing hackers to gain control of the computer.
Later versions of the malware used weaknesses in the Java language used for web pages to install the code and infect the machine.
Apple released a security patch for users to download and protect their Macs this week; users who have not yet installed the patch remain exposed.
“People used to say that Apple computers, unlike Windows PCs, can’t ever be infected — but it’s a myth,” Timur Tsoriev, an analyst at the Kaspersky Lab in Russia, told the BBC.

Pune Warriors defeated Mumbai in a shock victory in Mumbai to join them at the top of the IPL 2012 points table alongwith Delhi Daredevils who surprised Kolkata the previous night. Pune Warriors could manage only 129 with the bat but their bowlers responded superbly to defend the small total. It seems Sourav Ganguly has already had an impact on Pune who had a miserable first season last year.
Pune next play KXIP on April 8 and Mumbai play Deccan Chargers on April 9.

IPL 2012 Opening Ceremony: IPL party begins with star-studded opening ceremony as fans swoon
It doesn't matter if Suresh Raina doesn't like her, the vivacious Priyanka set the stage on fire as Aaj ki raat became the perfect appetizer for the next 55 nights.
If you thought no party could ever match the real action, you should have been there. The two hours whizzed by, as if it was just a super T20 game, not even giving you time to catch your breath. If Amitabh Bachchan's recital of Prasoon Joshi's poem embodied all that is pure and beautiful in the sport called cricket, Salman Khan's medley of his own songs was like the slog overs of an innings. The excitement just didn't stop.
And then, of course, there was the girl from California, Katy. "We love you Katy," the posters had started going up right from the beginning, and when she hit the stage with "fireworks", the temperature rose by a few degrees on a balmy April evening.
It was goose-bump stuff right at the beginning, when Big B, in his baritone voice, recited: "Janam yadi fir se mile, to itna sa chahunga mein..." It seemed he was talking for every Indian who is so crazy about cricket.
When it's all about the game itself, how can the cricketers be far away? Chennai's domination of the Indian Premier League came up time and again and when Priyanka asked MSD whether he can make it three-in-a-row, the Super Singham smiled. "There are quite a few good teams. But we will give our best shot once again," Dhoni said, as the crowd burst into raptures.
When Kareena follows Priyanka, there's bound to be a sense of competition. As the Chammak Challo girl took the stage after the Jungli billi, Kareena fans got up from their seats. And Kareena made it sure that she didn't let her fans down.
Raina, clearly a member of the Kareena club, was over the moon. "Who did you like more? Kareena or Priyanka?" the left-hander was asked. "I think it was Kareena. Whatever she did was just awesome," Raina, pretty much in the party mood, said.
Kapoor, in the middle of all the Bollywood razzmatazz, tried to keep the cricket flavour going by asking Sourav Ganguly what makes the IPL so special. The former India captain talked about the platform that the tournament provides. "You have somebody like me or Gilly who have left cricket long back as one of the captains. And then you have a guy like Harbhajan leading another side...And then, of course there are all the young talented players who get the chance to showcase their talent," he said.
Ganguly, Dravid and Gilchrist really added a retro feel to the whole show, but one man who was missed was Sachin Tendulkar. It's hard to think of a union of top Indian players without the Little Master, but he was probably at his hotel room, preparing for the ball to roll on Today.

Agneepath's First Day Early Estimate
Agneepath has set a new first day record of around 22 crore nett as per early estimates. The film has collected phenomenal numbers in Mumbai and South easily beating the first day numbers of Bodyguard. The North India and Central India belts are coming in with slightly lower collections as compared to Bodyguard. It is Mumbai and South where it has collected around 1.75 crore nett more than Bodyguard. It is also the second highest single day collection ever after the second day of Ra.One. The holiday factor has helped in a big way and just like Bodyguard day one and Ra.One day two. | |
The 20 crore nett plus days of Hindi cinema have all come with the major holidays be it Eid, Diwali and now Republic Day. The first day will be the best day and now it remains to be seen at what levels the film sustains over the weekend. |
India Surrenders Yet Again iN Adelaide Too...
Australia declared their second innings at 167 for 5 to set India a massive target of 500 in 146 overs. Any faint hopes India had of chasing down the target were dashed by yet another batting collapse as the tourists slumped to 166 for 6 at stumps on the fourth day in Adelaide.
Opening woes continue
India has struggled to put together any meaningful partnership for the first wicket in this series, and the trend continued when Gautam Gambhir edged a Ryan Harris delivery pitched around the off stump to Brad Haddin behind the wickets in the fifth over of India's second innings. Gambhir made 181 runs in the series at an average of 22.62, and 83 of those runs were scored in the second innings at Sydney.
Sehwag's cameo
India's stand-in captain Virender Sehwag flirted with danger more often than not during his 53-ball 62, and he made his intentions crystal clear from the first delivery he faced when he had an almighty swing at a widish length ball from Ben Hilfenhaus and just managed to clear Hussey at gully. Sehwag then played another poor shot shortly afterwards off Harris but was lucky the ball just fell short of David Warner, who was stationed in one of the gullys. He then hit a couple of boundaries off Hilfenhaus' bowling, but was
fortunate to get away with those shots as he wasn't in control both times.
But, Sehwag also showed the reason he has earned the reputation of being a destructive batsman as he despatched Hilfenhaus, Peter Siddle and Nathan Lyon to the fence with absolute disdain. He brought up his second half-century of the series by lofting Lyon over mid-off to get to the mark off only 36 deliveries.
There was also a stark contrast in the field placements for Sehwag and Rahul Dravid. When Sehwag was on strike, the field was spread out and fielders were stationed on the boundary, but the situation changed when Dravid took strike as the field closed in. This was a mini-battle won by Sehwag for the most part, and his counter-attack, however risky, caught out and frustrated the Australians for a while.
Sehwag though threw it away when he was caught by Ponting at short cover off a Lyon full toss, and the bowler himself couldn't believe his luck, as India went into Tea at 92 for 2.

India lost the wickets of Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Kohli in the last session to all but hasten the visitors' demise in the fourth Test. Dravid fell in the fifth over in the post-tea session as he played a poor shot as he attempted to play a drive, but only managed to get a thick edge which was pouched by Hussey at gully, with Harris being the successful bowler.
Lyon then got into the act as he dismissed Tendulkar, who had gone into a shell, and the eternal wait for his 100th international hundred will have to continue. Tendulkar gloved the ball to short leg where Ed Cowan took a simple catch to end the Indian legend's struggle in the middle.
Laxman did himself no favours as he again failed to put together a big knock and was out shortly before stumps to give Lyon his third wicket of the innings. It wasn't a wicket-taking delivery, but Laxman, who survived a loud LBW appeal from Siddle and was dropped by Ponting when on 25, hit it straight to Shaun Marsh at short midwicket. Laxman made 35 runs off 88 deliveries and added 52 runs for the fifth wicket with Kohli to give India the faintest of hopes of dragging the match late into the fifth day, but in the end it wasn't to be.
Kohli, who scored his maiden Test ton in the first innings, then ran himself out needlessly off the last ball of the penultimate over of the day when he took off for a risky run and despite a desperate dive failed to beat Hilfenhaus's direct hit from midwicket. And, that implosion and lack of thought on Kohli's part just about sums up India's abject surrender Down Under.
